Organic Gardening

Organic gardening is an activity that has become a craze and is on the lips of many people today, however how many of them really know just what it is? Well, to put simply, organic gardening uses animal or vegetable fertilizers instead of synthetic fertilizers to guarantee the health and high quality of plants and vegetables. The crops are naturally developed because no artificial pesticides or insecticides are use to protect them from insects or prompt their growth.

Instead of using industrial insecticides to keep the plants healthy and make them flourish, organic gardening uses natural pest control. That means that natural substances as well as beneficial insects are used to ward off pests that are prone to attacking plants and vegetables.

I’m starting organic container gardening. What fruits, vegetables, and herbs can be grown in what type of containers? How big does a container need to be for dwarf size blueberries?
I’m probably going to grow: carrots, tomatoes, blueberries, strawberries, broccoli, lettuce, corn, peas, basil, thyme, cantaloupe, celery, cauliflower, and other stuff.

Gardening Advice?

Keriokeeee asked:

I just started an organic garden in my backyard. I have planted tomotoes, cucumbers, cantalope, yellow squash, bell peppers, lettuce and oregano so far.

Any advice or helpful hints for growing healthy, pest and chemical free vegies? I don’t want the bugs to eat up the plants and I do NOT want to spray chemicals.

Other than weeding and watering, what else should I be doing to help them grow big and delicious?
